Colophon

“Colophon” comes from the Greek κολοφων, meaning ‘a summit,’ ‘top,’ ‘finishing.’ It is a description of the details and methods behind a publication, often found on the last few pages of a book.

Typography

The Luna Negra Dance Theater logo was designed by Ilan Geva and Michael Mesic. The 10th Anniversary logo was designed by Donny Harder and is set in the Myriad typeface. The body text and main titles of the site were set in Trebuchet MS. The primary navigation was created using Gill Sans. Helvetica and Tahoma are also used in different areas of the site. Trebuchet MS, Helvetica and Tahoma are all web safe fonts.

Design

Neoteric Design designed and developed this site. Neoteric redesigns websites with a focus on customer needs, site goals, ease of use and engaging design. The site redesign was launched in 2008.

Technical

We used Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash and TextMate in creating this site. The site runs on PHP. Content is maintained using Movable Type 4. Additional site features include Flash animation, custom PHP image rotation and the JW Flash Video Player. The site is authored using structural XHTML, and complies with the 1.0 transitional web standards as set by the W3C.
