Education and Outreach Programs
Luna Negra Dance Theater offers dance education to schools and communities through its education and outreach programs, serving over 10,000 students each year in Chicago and beyond.
Dance is a powerful tool for exploring cultural identity, providing positive role models for Latino and other minority students, promoting self-awareness, creating positive self-esteem, and building bridges across cultures. Luna Negra encourages students to explore the world around them, examine their own history and find their own voice to express their unique identity through dance. The company’s wide range of education programs includes in-school residencies, in-school performances, master classes, dance workshops, and a pre-professional summer dance intensive.
