Luna Negra Dance Theater celebrates the opening of its 10th Anniversary with an exceptional line up of works by contemporary Latino choreographers.
The program features There Is a Time, a masterwork by José Limón, one of the most prominent American choreographers (of Latino origin) in modern dance; the world premiere of Deshár Alhát (Leave Sunday) with live music by Stefani Valadez, a ground-breaking work by Eduardo Vilaro exploring the fascinating traditions, music and culture of the Sephardic Jews who settled in Latin America in the early 20th century; and AviMar, a new work by emerging Mexican choreographer Francisco Aviña in collaboration with Stephanie Martinez.
